Deburring, Polishing and Surface Finishing - Extrude Hone Corporation®
No Capital Investment Required
Perhaps the easiest and most economical way to discover the benefits of Extrude Hone’s advanced deburring and surface finishing technologies is by initially utilizing our network of ThermoBurr & Cation contract service centers. These facilities will process your component parts on a cost per piece basis and deliver them back to you quickly and conveniently.
Deburring & Surface Finishing Services
ThermoBurr & Cation contract shops are dedicated to providing advanced finishing processes to produce the highest quality, engineered surfaces and edge conditioning on the planet. We offer a menu of technologies for deburring, polishing, and producing controlled radii and our Job Shop Service Centers are strategically located near major manufacturing centers worldwide.
Various combinations of:
Thermal Energy Method (TEM) deburring
Abrasive Flow Machining (AFM)
Electrolytic Machining (ECM)
MicroFlow AFM and
Precision Cleaning Technology (Storm) equipment are on our shop floor to address all your deburring and finishing requirements. Our mission is to provide unparalleled agility and response to our customer’s needs. These include tight delivery schedules, increased production requirements, or simply overcoming unexpected machine downtime at your own facility.
Safe and Reliable
Thermal Energy Method (TEM) is used to find hidden and hard-to-reach burrs and remove them with a high heat energy source. Burrs and contaminants with thin cross sections are converted into an oxide powder that can be quickly removed with a wash, if necessary. This deburring process safely vaporizes internal and external burrs without damaging threads or other workpiece features.
Your Quality is Assured For:
Electrolytic Surface Finishing, Edge Radiusing, & Contouring
The ECM technique can be applied throughout the entire field of metal machining. Steel, stainless steel, light metal alloys, nonferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys are machined with ease.
Electrolytic Deburring (ECD) is suitable for higher production components with difficult-to-remove burrs created by: milling, drilling, sawing, turning, or stamping, where the degree and quality of other deburring methods have proven inadequate.
Electrolytic Contour Machining (ECM) is the definitive machining of grooves, channels, or unusual shapes and contours on production components. Edge rounding (radii) for stress removal and fluid cavity machining are two prime applications for Electrolytic Machining.
Electrolytic Surface Quality Enhancement is applied to surfaces that are cast, machined, forged, or EDM'd. Material removal ranging from 0.0005 inch to 0.01 inch (0.013 to 0.25) with a 5 to 10 times surface roughness improvement realized in most applications. Typical applications include surgical implants, glass & plastic bottle molds and various stainless steel components.
Quality Assurance
In today's age of quality assurance, cost reduction and Just-in-Time (JIT) inventories, the ThermoBurr and Cation teams work together with customers to meet quality and delivery needs with competitive pricing so we can help you obtain new jobs. Total quality management at each of our locations assures that customer parts are completely scrutinized for proper processing. Inspection procedures are performed with high-power microscopic analysis and gauging, inside and out, during each stage of the process. All quality related information is documented, stored for future referencing, and audited on a systematic basis.
